The honest maths
Most fertility clinics advertise the cost of conventional IVF — eggs and sperm placed together in a dish, and fertilisation left to happen on its own.
In current practice, most couples do not have conventional IVF. They have ICSI, where a single sperm is injected directly into each egg. It is standard for male-factor infertility, for unexplained infertility, and wherever fertilisation has failed before.
Most clinics also culture embryos to the blastocyst stage — day five rather than day three — because it lets the embryologist select the embryo with the best chance.
Both are usually quoted as extras. So are the medicines. An advertised price that excludes them is a price for a treatment most patients will not actually receive.
We include all of it, and we publish one number.

Where the money goes
IVF is expensive because the inputs genuinely are — imported hormonal medication, imported lab media and consumables, calibrated embryology equipment, and highly trained people. Here is the share each part takes.
Daily hormonal injections, GnRH antagonists or agonists, the trigger injection and supportive medicines. The largest single component — and the one most often compromised at unrealistically low prices.
ICSI or conventional fertilisation, embryo culture to day five, embryo grading, and vitrification of surplus embryos. The most skill-intensive part of IVF, and where outcomes are largely determined.
Anaesthesia, theatre charges, doctor and embryologist time, and recovery monitoring. Performed under short general anaesthesia in a sterile operating theatre.
Fertility evaluation, report analysis, diagnosis, personalised protocol design and follow-up throughout the cycle. Included in the package here, not billed per visit.

If the first transfer does not work
IVF often takes more than one embryo transfer. That is normal, and it is the part couples worry about most — not the cost of starting, but the cost of trying again.
Your cycle includes freezing of all surplus good-quality embryos and one year of storage. If a further transfer is needed and you have embryos in storage:
That is the transfer alone. No repeat stimulation, no repeat egg collection, no repeat medicines, no repeat theatre charge for pick-up — because none of that is needed again. A frozen embryo transfer is commonly charged at ₹40,000 to ₹70,000 in Patna.

Beyond the cycle itself
Ovarian stimulation means 10 to 14 days of daily injections and regular scans. For couples travelling from Muzaffarpur, Arrah, Begusarai, Samastipur or further, that means either repeated journeys or two weeks of paid accommodation in Patna.

If the ₹1,50,000 package is paid in full as a single payment, your delivery at Shradha is covered — normal delivery or caesarean, whichever is medically needed. We use ₹15,000 of that payment to take out an IVF pregnancy and delivery insurance policy in your name, and we will show you the policy before you decide.
Paying for treatment
The package is ₹1,50,000. The ₹15,000 difference below is the same ₹15,000 either way — take it off the price now, or use it to cover your delivery later.
A 10% reduction on the package price for booking directly with the clinic. Delivery cover does not apply.
The full package, and your delivery at Shradha is covered — normal or caesarean, whichever is needed. NICU is not covered.
EMI is offered as a service, not a profit centre — there is no margin built into it. The delivery cover applies to the single full payment only. Included whichever route you take: all consultations free, all ultrasound scans free, and all investigations at 20% discount. No cost is added once treatment has begun.
A clinical honesty note
IVF cannot be safely and successfully delivered below a certain cost — the components are simply too expensive. When a clinic advertises a complete cycle far below the range on this page, usually one of the following is happening.
Medicines, ICSI, blastocyst culture, freezing and anaesthesia billed separately afterwards, aggregating back to a standard total — or higher. This is the most common version by a wide margin.
Lower-grade preparations in place of recombinant FSH, which affects egg yield and egg quality, and therefore the chance the cycle works at all.
Fewer consumables and lower-grade culture media that will not reliably support embryos to the blastocyst stage, and lower-grade vitrification protocols that affect the survival of frozen embryos in any future cycle.
A low headline figure, then a list of procedures recommended once you have already committed. Ask for the total, in writing, before you begin — anywhere you go.
The usual result is a failed cycle the couple then pays for again — at which point the cheap IVF has cost more than honest IVF would have, with a heavy emotional toll on top. Our position is straightforward: price the cycle honestly so it has the best possible chance of working the first time.
Our pricing philosophy
Three deliberate operational decisions, none of which involve reducing clinical quality.
We purchase IVF medications in bulk directly from manufacturers, bypassing distributors and intermediate suppliers. This is the single largest contributor to our cost structure.
The same applies to culture media, vitrification kits, micropipettes and laboratory plastics. Direct sourcing reduces input cost without reducing input quality.
Many clinics achieving similar procurement efficiency keep the difference as margin. We pass it through, because the point is accessible fertility care for families across Bihar.
Being honest about outcomes
Outcomes depend on age, ovarian reserve, diagnosis, sperm parameters and factors that cannot be known before investigation. Any single headline success figure — on any clinic’s website, including ours — tells you very little that is useful about your own chances.
At your consultation, Dr. Chakhaiyar will discuss what the realistic range looks like for your situation, based on your own investigations rather than an average. That consultation is free, and it happens before you have spent anything on treatment.

No. ICSI is included, and so is blastocyst culture. Both are commonly quoted as add-ons at ₹15,000 to ₹40,000 and ₹15,000 to ₹30,000 respectively. Since most couples in current practice have ICSI rather than conventional IVF, a price that excludes it is a price for a treatment most patients will not receive.
Your cycle includes freezing of all surplus good-quality embryos and one year of storage. If you have embryos in storage, each further transfer costs ₹15,000 — there is no repeat stimulation, no repeat egg collection and no repeat medication, because none of that is needed again. Newborn intensive care (NICU) is not covered and is charged separately. If you take the ₹1,35,000 direct-booking price instead, the delivery cover does not apply.
Yes. Interest-free EMI is available on the ₹1,50,000 package at ₹12,500 a month over 12 months, or ₹6,250 a month over 24 months. There is no margin built into the EMI. The delivery cover applies to the single full payment only.
It depends on age, diagnosis, egg quality and how embryos develop, and no honest answer can be given before your investigations. What can be said is that published research counts one egg collection plus every frozen transfer arising from it as a single attempt — which is why the ₹15,000 further-transfer price matters. Dr. Chakhaiyar will give you a realistic expectation after your first evaluation, and reviews and adjusts the protocol if a cycle is unsuccessful.
Usually because the advertised figure excludes medicines, ICSI, blastocyst culture, freezing or anaesthesia, which are then billed afterwards and aggregate back to a standard total. Occasionally it reflects cheaper stimulation medication or reduced laboratory quality, both of which affect the chance the cycle works. As of 2026, IVF is not covered under Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY. Interest-free EMI from ₹6,250 a month is available to make treatment financially manageable without delaying it.
